Streets, parking and the trip to the depot

The map shows 33.2 km of local streets and 11.3 km of through roads. Narrow or one-way local streets make up 7 %, steep streets 35 %, and the mean grade is 5.6 %; the grade comes from a surface model that picks up building noise, so read it loosely. The 12 parking areas on the map total 18,969 m², but whether they have free space is not documented, which is why we pick the stopping point at your address beforehand.

None of the 2,496 mapped buildings carries floor data, so we promise nothing about lifts or stair width until we have seen them. Our depot is on the same side of the Bosphorus, in Sancaktepe, so no bridge is involved; our September 2026 car estimate for Sultanbeyli is 4–10 km and 6–11 minutes without traffic at district level, this neighbourhood was not measured separately, and we promise no duration.

Recorded places in the neighbourhood

  • M5 Sultanbeyli station

According to Metro İstanbul, the four stations of the Samandıra–Sultanbeyli stage, Sultanbeyli among them, opened to passengers on 22 May 2026, and the line was free until 30 May. İBB's station-point data places the Sultanbeyli station in this neighbourhood. Pedestrian and feeder traffic can build up around station exits, so the exit locations are worth keeping in mind when choosing where a loading vehicle stands (our inference).

  • The station's structure

According to Wikipedia (a secondary source), the station lies under Fatih Bulvarı at a depth of 34 m, with one entrance, 4 lifts and 6 escalators, and no car park. The surroundings do not look set up for leaving vehicles, so a spot for the truck needs separate planning (our inference).

  • Two blocks in a planning notice

The municipality's planning notices page lists point amendments for Mehmet Akif on block 7701 and on block 4626, shown as a park. We could not read the attachments, so the content, the date and whether any building work follows are unknown. Near those blocks work may be possible, so we check the address with you beforehand (our inference).

  • Population of about 28,000

According to Wikipedia (a secondary source citing the TÜİK ADNKS table), the neighbourhood had 28,367 residents in 2024. The same article states an area of 1.7 km², different from the 2.1 km² we calculate from the map, so we make no density claim. Divided by the 2,496 mapped buildings that is roughly 11 people each, though some buildings are not homes (our inference).

Which room fits which situation

  1. 1.8 m³ for a 1+0

A bed, a few boxes and a small wardrobe from a small flat or a one-person home usually fit this room.

  2. 2.15 and 22 m³ for a 1+1 and a 2+1

The building count on the map says nothing about flats, so we choose the room from your item list, not from an assumption. For large pieces only, 15 m³ often suffices; a full 2+1 usually needs 22 m³.

  3. 3.28 m³ for a 3+1

For a whole four-room home or two homes merged. We work out the amount during the free survey.

  4. 4.Preparing for the visit

Bring the item list with measurements and photos of the building entrance and the lift; sort the boxes into those you will need often and those you will not.

Frequently asked in Mehmet Akif

Where does a truck stop in the neighbourhood of the metro station?

According to Wikipedia, the station has no car park of its own, while the map shows 12 parking areas across the neighbourhood. Since we do not know which are available, we fix the stopping point at your address beforehand.

Do blocks 7701 and 4626 in the planning notice affect my street?

We could not read the notice, so we cannot judge. The most reliable way is to compare your parcel's block number with the municipality's notice.

Can I reach the depot from Mehmet Akif by metro?

The M5 runs as far as Sultanbeyli, while the depot is in a different neighbourhood of Sancaktepe. We have not measured the change or the walk; check metro.istanbul for the current route.

Can boxes be moved with a hand trolley?

The mean grade is 5.6 % and steep streets make up 35 %; if the vehicle has to stop some distance from the door, the carry can be demanding at some addresses (our inference). At the free survey we check the street's slope and how close the vehicle can get.
