Slope, parking and the trip to the depot

The map shows 26.8 km of local streets and 8.3 km of through roads. Narrow or one-way streets stay at 3 %; the mean grade is 5.4 % and 36 % of streets count as steep. Grades come from an elevation model, so they describe the neighbourhood, not one street.

For a waiting vehicle the map lists 10 parking areas of 26,672 m² in all; free space is unknown. There are 1,213 buildings. The mean floor count is 8.2, but floors are entered for only 1 % of them, so we trust neither that figure nor any assumption about lifts.

Our depot is on the Anatolian side, in Sancaktepe's Abdurrahmangazi, with no Bosphorus crossing. Our September 2026 OSRM and OpenStreetMap calculation gives 8–18 km and 8–16 minutes without traffic across Ümraniye, and 7.7 km and about 8 minutes from our Necip Fazıl measuring point to the depot. A loaded truck and rush hour change that; we promise no duration.

Known points in the neighbourhood

  • Four entrances to the M5 station

According to Wikipedia's station article (citing Metro İstanbul), entrances face Madenler Mahallesi, Baraj Yolu Caddesi, the market and the mall; the ticket hall links to MetroGarden. Naming the entrance eases a meeting; whether the front suits a truck is unknown.

  • On the rail network since 2018

Metro İstanbul's M5 page says the Yamanevler–Çekmeköy stage opened on 21 October 2018, and Necip Fazıl appears on it; the line has reached Sultanbeyli since May 2026. We have not measured the station nearest our depot or the walking time.

  • Population grew over sixteen years

Wikipedia relays TÜİK address-based counts of 19,736 for 2008 and 28,856 for 2024. In a busy neighbourhood several moves may share one street at once (our inference), so agreeing the stopping place beforehand helps.

  • Places around the station

Wikipedia's station article lists Alemdağ Caddesi, the MetroGarden and İdealistPark malls, the municipal indoor pool and an indoor market. The market's name mentions Çekmeköy, so its neighbourhood is unclear, and no day is stated. These names help with directions; since avenue traffic around the malls may be busy, picking a loading spot on a side street can be easier (our inference).

Which room for which home

  1. 1.8 m³ for a 1+0

A bed, a few boxes and a small wardrobe usually fit. The flat mix of the buildings is undocumented; your item list decides.

  2. 2.15 and 22 m³ for a 1+1 and 2+1

For only the large pieces during a renovation 15 m³ is often enough; an emptied 2+1 usually needs 22 m³.

  3. 3.28 m³ for a 3+1

For a spacious flat or two homes merging; the free survey settles what fits.

  4. 4.Preparing for a sloping exit

Dismantle large pieces, keep boxes to a one-hand weight and ask the management about the freight lift. Bring a measured list and a doorway photo to the visit.

Frequently asked in Necip Fazıl

Can a truck load in front of the metro entrance?

We have not verified stopping rules there. A side street off the busy avenue is often easier (our inference); for temporary road use ask the municipal Zabıta first.

Can I reach the depot by metro to see it?

M5 runs to Sultanbeyli, but we have not measured the nearest station, the change or the walk. Check metro.istanbul for the route.

My home is at the top of a slope; how do heavy items come down?

Steep streets are 36 % of the network, so at the free survey we check how close the vehicle can get to the door and discuss how heavy pieces like a fridge will be carried. Seeing the street direction and the space outside the door is enough.

What if my building has no freight lift?

The data has no lift information. Without one, items go down the stairs; dismantling pieces and small boxes shorten the job. Ask the management for its rule in writing.
