Slopes, parking and the trip to the depot

Map data lists 37.1 km of local streets and 7.8 km of through roads. 4 % of local streets are narrow and 4 % are one-way, so few streets would jam a truck. The difference is the slope: mean grade is 4.8 % and 28 % of streets count as steep, nearly one in four. We infer that at some addresses a fridge or large wardrobe may be carried a short way to the vehicle by hand.

The map shows 12 parking areas covering 10,821 m², or 6.7 per square kilometre. Not all are free at any hour, so we agree beforehand where the vehicle will wait. Floor counts exist for only 3 % of the 1,462 buildings, so we hold no lift data.

The trip stays on the Anatolian side, with no Bosphorus crossing. We have not measured a duration here; our September 2026 OSRM / OpenStreetMap range for Ümraniye is roughly 8–18 km and 8–16 minutes without traffic, and we promise no timing.

Known points in the neighbourhood

  • Dudullu metro station: M5 and M8

The Wikipedia station article places Dudullu in Yukarı Dudullu, on Alemdağ Caddesi; M5 opened on 21 October 2018, M8 on 6 January 2023, and the lines share entrances and the ticket hall. Metro İstanbul's line pages also list it as their interchange. Surrounding streets include Alemdağ Caddesi, Necip Fazıl Bulvarı and Dudullu Meydanı; the junction may be busy, so we may park the vehicle a little away from the station (our inference).

  • İBB risky-building plan note

İBB Urban Transformation's March 2022 Ümraniye page lists Yukarı Dudullu in the 1/5000 plan list and in two named plans, the Yukarı Dudullu partial revision and the Aşağı-Yukarı Dudullu plan. That suggests risky-building rules can apply here (our inference). Anyone waiting for an evacuation can use a locked room as a stop-gap; the Municipality publishes the rent-aid and evacuation-support forms.

  • Population and density

Wikipedia, citing TÜİK's address-based population register, gives 21,482 residents for 2024 and 1.8 km², which agrees with our 1.78 km². Dividing gives roughly 12,000 people per square kilometre (our calculation), so several families moving the same week and waiting in turn outside the door are plausible (our inference).

Choosing a room by flat type

  1. 1.8 or 15 m³ for 1+0 and 1+1

In a dense neighbourhood a small flat's contents usually fit one of these sizes: a bed, a few boxes and seasonal items point to 8 m³; add a sofa and white goods and 15 m³ is likelier.

  2. 2.22 or 28 m³ for 2+1 and 3+1

Look at these when a whole home has to wait through an evacuation. We hold no data on the flat mix here; the free survey measures which one will do.

  3. 3.Preparing items from a steep street

Gather heavy pieces near the door and take the large wardrobe apart; if the vehicle stops far off, the hand-carry stays short.

  4. 4.What to bring to the visit

Note the size of large pieces, your building's goods-lift situation and the management's consent for parking. You can visit the depot on any day without an appointment.
