Tight streets and loading
The map shows 19 km of local streets and 7 km of through roads. Narrow or one-way streets make up 22 % of the local network, the highest of Sancaktepe's nineteen neighbourhoods; Sarıgazi, second, has 14 %. Steep streets are 20 % and the mean grade is 3.7 %, so width matters more than slope.
On a narrow one-way street a truck may not let oncoming traffic pass, so stopping on a main road or near one of the 6 parking areas on the map is often easier (our inference). Those areas total 8,606 m²; free space is not documented. Floor counts exist for only 2 % of the 1,352 buildings, and there is no lift data.
Our depot is in the same district, in Abdurrahmangazi, so the trip needs no bridge crossing. Across Sancaktepe, the car-profile estimate puts addresses at roughly 1–15 km and 0–30 minutes without traffic; actual time depends on your street and the hour, and we promise no duration. If the vehicle cannot reach your door, a short hand-carry between the door and the vehicle may be needed.
Known places in the neighbourhood
The District Governorate building
Sancaktepe District Governorate is in Meclis, at Atatürk Caddesi No:111. Its history page says the building was the municipality's service building before and has housed the Governorate since 1 April 2017, with land registry, population and social-assistance offices under one roof. A handy landmark when directing a driver; the surroundings may be busy by day (our inference).
The muhtar's office on Cemal Gürsel Caddesi
İBB open data places the neighbourhood's muhtar office at Cemal Gürsel Cad. No:128 A, a different street from the Governorate. The dataset is dated June 2025, so check before you go. Telling the driver which of the two you mean saves time.
M5 Meclis station
Metro İstanbul's M5 page lists Meclis right after Çekmeköy; the Çekmeköy to Samandıra Merkez section opened on 16 March 2024. İBB's station point data puts it inside the neighbourhood, about 376 m from the muhtar office point (our calculation), but still calls it under construction, so that dataset is out of date. We have not measured the walk.
Room sizes by item volume
1.1+0 flats: 8 m³
From a one-person flat or studio, a bed, a few boxes and a small wardrobe usually fit into this room. Because building-floor data covers only 2 %, we make no guesses about housing types here.
2.1+1 and 2+1 flats: 15 and 22 m³
The number of flats inside the 1,352 buildings is not recorded, so your item list sets the room size. Setting aside bulky furniture during a renovation often takes 15 m³, while emptying a two-bedroom flat usually calls for 22 m³.
3.3+1 flats: 28 m³
Our largest option suits a full family home or two households combining their belongings into one locked room; we confirm the volume at the free survey.
4.Loading-day preparation on a tight street
Taking wardrobes and bed frames apart beforehand makes loading easier on streets where the vehicle has to wait a short distance away. Note the measurements of large items and share a photo of the street in front of your building before the survey.

Frequently asked in Meclis
Can a truck pull right up to the door in Meclis?
With 22 % of local streets narrow or one-way in the map data, at some addresses the vehicle may wait at the end of the street or in a nearby bay. We assess your street during the free survey.
I live near the Governorate: what should I watch for on loading day?
Because the building hosts land registry and population offices, its surroundings may be busy during working hours (our inference). Agreeing on a stopping spot beforehand and picking a quieter time of day makes loading simpler.
How can I reach the depot from Meclis by public transport?
The M5 line has a Meclis station, while our depot is in the district's Abdurrahmangazi neighbourhood. We have not measured the trip or transfers between stations; check metro.istanbul or your maps app for current routes.
Are Meclis's streets steep?
Steep streets are 20 % and the mean grade is 3.7 %. Because the steep share exceeds 50 % in some neighbourhoods of Sancaktepe, Meclis sits mid-range; combined with narrow streets, hand-carrying distance can still increase (our inference).
