What brings people to storage in Sancaktepe
According to the District Governorate, Sancaktepe has 19 neighbourhoods and 436,733 residents (the page gives no year). It was formed in 2008 by merging Sarıgazi, Yenidoğan and Samandıra, and is described as an area with heavy in-migration. In such a district a room often starts as a bridge: the old flat is empty but the new one is not ready, or cannot hold everything.
Except in Sarıgazi (13 percent of buildings tagged, averaging 4.1 storeys), fewer than 5 percent of buildings in the other 18 neighbourhoods carry level data on the map (0–3 percent), which is why the table below shows "—" for them. Residents write that four- and five-storey blocks replaced older detached houses across the district, alongside gated complexes around Abdurrahmangazi, Osmangazi and Emek. For anyone moving into a smaller flat, a locked room is a practical way to clear space.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's May 2022 zoning-note amendment on risky buildings covers all 19 neighbourhoods, yet we found no announced transformation zone. A room still suits furniture that must be out of the way during a refit. For offices, residents write that Emek has an organised industrial zone and that textile workshops are common; that is a single-source observation.
From your door to the depot
The depot is in Abdurrahmangazi, inside the district and on the Anatolian side, so there is no Bosphorus crossing. A car-profile estimate from OSRM / OpenStreetMap (September 2026) puts addresses in Sancaktepe about 1–15 km and 0–30 minutes away without traffic: 0.7 km and 1 minute within Abdurrahmangazi, 4.1 km and 5 minutes to the district centre, 14.8 km and 28 minutes to Paşaköy, the farthest neighbourhood. Daytime traffic and a loaded vehicle change this, and we promise no time. Items are collected from your door anywhere in Istanbul and brought back when you want them.
Loading is decided on the street. In Meclis 22 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow, in Sarıgazi 14 percent, in Eyüp Sultan 13 percent; there the question is where the vehicle waits. In Mevlana, Safa and Yunus Emre 55–60 percent of streets are steep, so some boxes may be carried by hand. The map shows 16 parking areas in Sarıgazi and none in Hilal or Yunus Emre. Figures are approximate; the free survey shows your street.
From Meclis to Mevlana: Sancaktepe street and slope notes
Computed from OpenStreetMap and the Copernicus elevation model, so approximate. We chose the neighbourhoods whose numbers differ most.
Abdurrahmangazi Mahallesi
Our own neighbourhood: 3.9 km², about 51.4 km of local streets and 2,416 buildings. 3 percent of streets are one-way or narrow and 17 percent steep; 24 parking areas are mapped, the district's highest count. Only 1 percent of buildings carry level data, so we check lift size and complex entrance rules at the survey.
Meclis Mahallesi
22 percent of 19 km of local streets are one-way or narrow, the district's highest share, with 6 mapped parking areas. The mean grade is a low 3.7 percent, so the difficulty is where the vehicle can stand, not the hill.
Sarıgazi Mahallesi
14 percent of streets are one-way or narrow, mean grade 4.8 percent. A small 1.2 km² area holds 16 parking areas (12.9 per km²). At 13 percent it has the district's highest share of buildings with level data, averaging 4.1 storeys.
Mevlana Mahallesi
The district's steepest neighbourhood: mean grade 9.7 percent, 60 percent of local streets steep. No one-way or narrow streets, but only 2 parking areas on the map and no level data. Mention any uphill carry distance for heavy pieces at the survey.
Paşaköy Mahallesi
At 27.4 km² the largest neighbourhood, yet with only 550 buildings and 29.1 km of local streets; residents describe a preserved village fabric. No one-way or narrow streets; mean grade 5.4 percent. About 14.8 km and 28 minutes from the depot by car-profile estimate.

Preparation tips from Abdurrahmangazi to Paşaköy
1.Choose the room by beds, white goods and sofas
Rooms are 8 m³ for a 1+0, 15 m³ for a 1+1, 22 m³ for a 2+1 and 28 m³ for a 3+1. A flat usually fits the room of the same name, but beds, white goods and sofas can shift that; we settle it at the survey.
2.Use the in-district depot to your advantage
Because our depot is in Abdurrahmangazi, Sancaktepe residents have a short trip whenever they want to visit their room, any day and without an appointment. Label the boxes you will need now and then separately and ask at the survey where they will sit in the room.
3.On steep streets, ask about vehicle distance
Around Mevlana, Safa, Yunus Emre, Hilal and Fatih, discuss how close the vehicle can get; if the carry is long, heavy pieces can go on a separate trip.
4.Settle the stopping point on one-way streets
In Meclis, Sarıgazi and Eyüp Sultan the vehicle may have to stop near a pavement or junction. Choosing the spot together in advance saves time.
5.Ask building management about the lift
If we are collecting from one of the gated complexes residents describe around Abdurrahmangazi, Osmangazi and Emek, ask building management in advance about freight-lift rules and security sign-in.

Questions about storage in Sancaktepe
Can you collect from a hilly neighbourhood such as Mevlana or Safa?
Yes, with preparation. Mean grade there is 8.8–9.7 percent and 57–60 percent of streets are steep. We check how close the vehicle can get during the survey and plan heavy items as a separate run if needed.
The depot is inside the district, so how soon would my things arrive?
By car-profile estimate, about 1–15 km and 0–30 minutes without traffic, around 28 minutes for Paşaköy. Daytime traffic and a loaded vehicle change it, so we promise no time; we agree the loading time with you.
I live in Samandıra. Which neighbourhood is my address in?
Samandıra is an area name, not an official neighbourhood; it spreads over Abdurrahmangazi, Eyüp Sultan, Osmangazi, Veysel Karani and others. Give us your street and building name and we check the neighbourhood together.
What should I put in storage during a refit?
Usually large pieces you do not use daily: bedroom sets, bookcases, sofas. Delicate items you want away from dust and knocks can go too; we measure how much fits at the survey.
