Sarıgazi storage

Until Sancaktepe was created in 2008, Sarıgazi was a separate town attached to Ümraniye; today it is a dense 1.2 km² neighbourhood in the same district as our depot. Below we briefly cover the street layout, a few useful addresses nearby and how to choose a room.

Streets, loading and the way to the depot

The neighbourhood packs 21.5 km of local streets and 5.4 km of through roads into 1.2 km², so streets are frequent and short. 29 % of local streets count as steep and the mean grade is 4.8 %. A truck reaches the main road easily; on a steep side street, boxes and heavy pieces may be carried by hand to the door (our inference).

The map holds 1,395 buildings; level data exists for 13 % of them, averaging 4.1 storeys. For a sofa or wardrobe coming down a lift-free fourth floor, send its dimensions and the stair width beforehand.

The map shows 16 parking areas totalling 26,098 m². Not all will have a free space, so we agree where the vehicle stands beforehand. The depot is in Abdurrahmangazi, inside the district, with no bridge crossing; by OSRM car-profile estimate addresses across the district are about 1–15 km and 0–30 minutes away without traffic, though we have not timed a Sarıgazi trip and promise no duration.

What we could confirm from sources

  • Muhtar's office address

    İBB open data lists Sarıgazi Neighbourhood Muhtar's Office at Topçular Cad. No:2. The dataset is dated June 2025, so check before visiting. It is a handy reference point for agreeing where the vehicle stands.

  • M5 station in İBB data

    In the rail station point data, the Sarıgazi station lies about 490 m north of the muhtar's office point (our calculation). The same June 2025 row still says under construction; that label is out of date. Near the station, picking a stopping place in advance may be needed (our inference).

  • Place on the M5 line

    metro.istanbul lists the stations as Meclis, Sarıgazi, Sancaktepe Şehir Hastanesi, and the Çekmeköy–Samandıra Merkez section opened on 16 March 2024. That Sarıgazi sits in this section is our reading of the order. Confirm current details on the line page before a metro visit.

  • Former town, District Governorate building

    The District Governorate says Sarıgazi was a town attached to Ümraniye until Law 5747 of 2008. The former municipal service building, recorded as Sarıgazi block 42, parcel 5, has housed the Governorate since 2017, with the district Land Registry and Population offices inside. Its postal address is Meclis Neighbourhood, Atatürk Cad. No:111; allow time there for any address or title matter.

Choosing a room

  1. 1.8 m³ for a 1+0

    A bed, a few boxes and a small wardrobe from a one-person flat usually fit.

  2. 2.15 and 22 m³ for 1+1 and 2+1

    Buildings with level data suggest apartment blocks, but the sample is small. Sofas, bedroom pieces and appliances decide; we measure at the survey.

  3. 3.28 m³ for a 3+1

    For a whole household or two homes merging; the free survey settles how much fits.

Yes. 29 % of local streets count as steep; we load as close as the vehicle can get and carry the rest by hand.

Can I get to the depot by metro?

On the M5, Sancaktepe station is two stops after Sarıgazi and its point appears inside Abdurrahmangazi. We have not measured the walk to the depot, so we give no time.

Where do I go for an address change or title deed matter?

The Governorate page places the district Land Registry and Population offices in its building in Meclis Neighbourhood. Ask the office which documents it needs.
