Bayrampaşa storage
Bayrampaşa is on the European side and our depot is in Abdurrahmangazi, Sancaktepe, so the 37–42 km drive crosses the Bosphorus. Below we show which room usually fits and where a vehicle can stop, using street data for each neighbourhood.

Why people in Bayrampaşa look for storage
The District Governorate lists 11 neighbourhoods and about 270,000 residents. Its history page says the area became an industrial zone after 1955 and shared plots shrank from 250 m² to 100 m². Level counts are mapped for 3 percent of buildings in İsmet Paşa and 2 percent in Kocatepe, and round to 0 percent in Yıldırım and Terazidere. With data this thin, we check building height with you during the survey.
Urban transformation is the most concrete official hook. İBB's Old Prison Site page says 30.76 percent of the building stock (19,973 buildings) is at risk under its disaster-mitigation plan; the İsmet Paşa project has 2,269 homes and 212 commercial units, with move-in starting on 22 June 2020. A January 2026 page says second-phase demolitions continue, and temporary housing requires the unit to be vacated. A locked room can bridge the gap between vacating and a new flat; İBB does not mention storage, that is our own inference.
From Bayrampaşa to Sancaktepe: the Bosphorus crossing and street conditions
A vehicle from Bayrampaşa, Sağmalcılar for example, crosses the Bosphorus before it reaches the depot on the Anatolian side. Our OSRM / OpenStreetMap car route from September 2026 gives 37.4 km and 32 minutes without traffic from Sağmalcılar, 38.9 km and 34 minutes from the district centre, and 42.2 km and 33 minutes from Karadeniz. The bridge depends on vehicle class: KGM's restriction list closes the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges to trucks and buses, while Yavuz Sultan Selim is open to all motor vehicles. We do not promise times.
Streets differ sharply inside the district. One-way or narrow streets are 88 percent of local streets in İsmet Paşa and 87 percent in Cevatpaşa, but only 6 percent in Terazidere and Vatan. Steep streets are 57 percent in Vatan, 53 percent in Kartaltepe and 51 percent in Terazidere. No parking area is mapped in Vatan or Terazidere. A few Ekşi Sözlük posters write that parking is hard to find; that is not official data, but it is why we fix the waiting spot beforehand. The municipality's website was closed to non-Turkish IP addresses on research day, so we could not read its road-use rules; the e-Belediye contact page lists 444 19 90.
Neighbourhood notes on streets and loading
Figures are approximate, computed from OpenStreetMap and the Copernicus elevation model; read slopes relative to other neighbourhoods. We picked the six of eleven that differ most.
İsmet Paşa Mahallesi
Of 6.8 km of local streets, 88 percent are one-way or narrow. Steep streets are 27 percent, the lowest in the district. The map shows one parking record with zero area. The mean is 11 levels where recorded, but only 3 percent of buildings carry that data.
Cevatpaşa Mahallesi
87 percent of streets are narrow, yet only 9 percent are one-way, so narrowness comes from width, not traffic direction. Mean grade is 4.4 percent, the lowest in the district.
Kartaltepe Mahallesi
Of 18.7 km of local streets, 63 percent are one-way or narrow and 53 percent are steep. With 2,771 mapped buildings it has the most in the district, yet only 2 parking areas.
Vatan Mahallesi
At 0.229 km² it is the smallest in the district; 6 percent of streets are one-way or narrow, so a vehicle can usually get close to a door. The difficulty is slope: 57 percent steep streets, the highest in the district. No parking area is mapped.
Terazidere Mahallesi
6 percent of local streets are narrow and 51 percent steep; mean grade is 6.6 percent. No parking area is mapped. Residents write on Ekşi Sözlük that apartment basements hold textile workshops.
Altıntepsi Mahallesi
With 19 parking areas and 14.9 per square kilometre it has the highest density in the district, so a place for the vehicle is easier to find. Narrow streets are 23 percent, steep streets 39 percent.

Preparation tips for Bayrampaşa
1.Start from the room that shares your flat's name
Rooms are 8 m³ for a 1+0, 15 m³ for a 1+1, 22 m³ for a 2+1 and 28 m³ for a 3+1. A flat usually fits the room with the same name; for a renovation keeping only bulky pieces, one size smaller can do.
2.Find the vehicle's waiting spot early
In İsmet Paşa, Cevatpaşa, Yıldırım, Kocatepe and Kartaltepe, 63–88 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow. We pick the spot during the survey; boxes gathered near the door shorten the carry.
3.Keep boxes small on slopes
In Vatan, Kartaltepe and Terazidere, 51–57 percent of streets are steep. Use small boxes for books and kitchenware; heavy items like a fridge can go on a separate trip.
4.Sort your vacate list first
If you are emptying a home because of urban transformation, make three piles: new flat, room, bin. Tell us your vacate date during the survey.
5.Ask about parking and lifts in new blocks
İBB writes that the old prison project provides at least one covered parking space per unit. For a pickup from a new block, ask the management about the car park ramp height and the freight lift rule.
Room sizes and monthly prices

Questions about storage in Bayrampaşa
How does the Bosphorus crossing work from Bayrampaşa?
The depot is in Sancaktepe on the Anatolian side, so the drive is 37–42 km by our car estimate. On KGM's list, trucks and buses cannot use the 15 July Martyrs or Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges; Yavuz Sultan Selim is open. We confirm the route by phone once we know the vehicle class.
My building is part of urban transformation. When should I bring my things?
Ask for a survey as soon as you know your vacate date. It is free; we list together what goes into the room and choose the size.
What if the vehicle cannot enter the street in İsmet Paşa or Cevatpaşa?
In these neighbourhoods 87–88 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow. The vehicle stops at the nearest suitable point and boxes are carried from there; we choose it during the survey.
Can you collect from steep places such as Vatan or Kartaltepe?
Yes. With 53–57 percent of streets steep there, we agree the crew size and any separate trip for heavy items during the survey.
