Zeytinburnu storage
From Zeytinburnu our depot in Sancaktepe is roughly 34–38 km away, across the Bosphorus, while the district's own streets are short, dense and mostly lined with four-storey blocks. Map data shows which room tends to fit and what your street means for loading.

Why a district of four-storey blocks needs storage
The District Governorate counts 13 neighbourhoods in a district 5.5 km long and 2.5 km wide. In Beştelsiz, Çırpıcı, Gökalp, Nuripaşa, Telsiz, Veliefendi, Yenidoğan and Yeşiltepe, level data covers 88–97 percent of buildings, averaging 4 storeys; Telsiz has 2,058 buildings. In Kazlıçeşme, Seyitnizam and Maltepe the few tagged buildings average about 10 storeys, covering only 3–7 percent of them. The map says nothing about flat sizes; that tight fabric leaves little spare room is our inference.
On the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's transformation site, Sümer is the only Zeytinburnu entry: a 5.12-hectare area east of the Veliefendi Hippodrome, declared a transformation and development area on 10.11.2021. The page says work is continuing and carries no date. Residents write that streets close on demolition days. For people waiting for a new flat, a locked room is a practical stopgap.
From Zeytinburnu to Sancaktepe: crossing and streets
From Zeytinburnu, the Fetihkapı side included, the road to our depot crosses the Bosphorus onto the Anatolian side. Our OSRM / OpenStreetMap car estimate (September 2026) is about 34–38 km and 30–35 minutes without traffic: 34.0 km and 31 minutes at the nearest point, 36.4 km and 34 minutes to the centre, 38.3 km and 35 minutes on the Fetihkapı side. A loaded vehicle may differ, and we promise no duration. KGM's list closes the 15 Temmuz Şehitler and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges to trucks and buses; the Avrasya Tunnel has a European entrance in Kazlıçeşme, but the operator bars vehicles above 2.80 m or 5 tonnes. We settle the crossing at the survey.
Inside the district the issue is closeness rather than slope. The District Governorate describes the south as a flat plain; elevation reaches 51 m in Maltepe. Grades come from a surface model and can look exaggerated in dense areas, so read them relatively: 48–50 percent of local streets in Sümer, Yenidoğan, Veliefendi and Gökalp are steep, 16 percent in Kazlıçeşme. In Kazlıçeşme and Seyitnizam 22 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow, in Merkezefendi 21 percent. No parking area is mapped in 6 of the 13 neighbourhoods. We could not verify any rule on a moving vehicle using the road.
Zeytinburnu neighbourhood access notes

Telsiz Mahallesi
2,058 buildings in 0.548 km², the highest count; the average is 4 storeys. 10 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow and 40 percent steep; no parking area is mapped.
Yeşiltepe Mahallesi
2 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow, the lowest share in the district; 37 percent are steep. 871 buildings, no mapped parking: street width is no obstacle, but where the vehicle stops is the question.
Sümer Mahallesi
50 percent of local streets are steep (tied with Yenidoğan for the highest), and mean grade of 7.2 percent is the district's highest. The 5.12-hectare transformation area lies here, east of the hippodrome; ask before pickup whether your street is open.

Maltepe Mahallesi
The largest neighbourhood at 3.095 km², with 17.4 km of local streets, 17 percent of them narrow or one-way. Its 15 parking areas are the district's most. The 51 m elevation the District Governorate cites is here, as are the T4 Fetihkapı and T1 Topkapı stops.

Preparing for storage in Zeytinburnu
1.One size down for a refit, matching size for a whole home
Rooms are 8 m³ for a 1+0, 15 m³ for a 1+1, 22 m³ for a 2+1 and 28 m³ for a 3+1. Belongings cleared for a refit usually fit a room one size down; a whole home fits the matching size. The free survey settles it.
2.Take big pieces apart
In four-storey stair-only buildings, removing bed heads, wardrobe doors and table legs shortens the carry. In taller coastal blocks, ask management about freight-lift rules.
3.Let us pick the stopping spot at the survey
In Kazlıçeşme, Seyitnizam and Merkezefendi 21–22 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow, and six of the 13 neighbourhoods have no mapped parking. We choose together where the vehicle waits.
4.Label by room if you are moving out for rebuilding
Name boxes room by room so each goes straight to its place on return. Streets can close on demolition days, so check the vehicle can reach your door before pickup.

Questions about storage in Zeytinburnu
How is the Bosphorus crossing planned from Zeytinburnu?
The car-profile estimate is about 34–38 km and 30–35 minutes without traffic. Trucks and buses cannot use the 15 Temmuz Şehitler or Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges, and the Avrasya Tunnel has a 2.80 m and 5-tonne limit.
How does pickup work from a four-storey block in Telsiz or Çırpıcı?
We collect from your door. These neighbourhoods average 4 storeys, so stairs are often involved; taking wardrobes and beds apart shortens the carry.
Can I store belongings while leaving a transformation area like Sümer's?
Yes, a room can hold the belongings of an emptied home. The page does not say when the work ends. Our rooms have no maximum term, which helps when the return date is unclear.
Does a moving vehicle need a permit from the Municipality?
The Municipality's site was unreachable on the research day, so we could not verify such a rule. If the vehicle will wait on a narrow or one-way street, ask Zabıta before pickup day.
