Güngören storage

When a Güngören home must be emptied for a while, whether for Tozkoparan's phased redevelopment or a single-plot demolition, our rooms wait in Sancaktepe across the Bosphorus, roughly 39–43 km away. We collect and deliver at your door and settle the truck's street at the free survey.

Demolition, redevelopment and dense blocks: why Güngören needs storage

The District Governorate records 11 neighbourhoods on 839 hectares, about 8.4 km². The map holds 10,683 buildings; level data covers 84–98 percent of them in every neighbourhood, and averages run from 3.5 storeys in Tozkoparan and 4.3 in Mehmet Nesih Özmen to 6.2 in Haznedar. We have no data on flat sizes here; that small flats raise storage demand is our inference.

Redevelopment is in official records. The municipality's news item of 24.03.2026 reports 798 units handed over in Tozkoparan, foundations laid for 1,132 more and 1,930 handovers targeted for summer 2027. September 2026 notices carry share-sale announcements under Law 6306 for plots in Haznedar, Güven, Gençosman and Merkez. When a handover date is not settled, a locked room with no maximum term suits the wait.

Merter to Güneştepe, 39–43 km: the Bosphorus, parking and the tram street

In Güngören both the Merter area and Güneştepe are on the European side, so the road to our depot crosses the Bosphorus. Our OSRM / OpenStreetMap car estimate (September 2026) is about 39–43 km and 35–40 minutes without traffic: 40.9 km and 37 minutes to the district centre, 43.2 km and 39 minutes to Güneştepe, 39.4 km around Merter. A loaded vehicle may differ; we settle the road at the survey.

Parking is the district's visible problem. The District Governorate calls it a problem for traffic; the map has no parking area in 5 of the 11 neighbourhoods (Akıncılar, Güneştepe, Güven, Mareşal Çakmak, Sanayi), and residents write that street parking is hard to find. The municipality's 1,550-space car parks (2026) were aimed at residents circling in the evening. We found no separate rule for moving vehicles. The Governorate says the T1 tram runs at street level down Mehmet Akif Caddesi; a side street may suit the truck better, which we settle at the survey.

Sanayi is 52 percent steep, Haznedar 29 percent: six of 11 neighbourhoods

Merter is not an official neighbourhood name; it describes the area around Mehmet Nesih Özmen and Sanayi. Grades come from a surface model and are indicative.

  • Tozkoparan Mahallesi

506 buildings over 0.837 km²; 84 percent have level data, averaging 3.5 storeys, the lowest in the district. 8 percent of local streets are narrow or one-way, mean grade 5.1 percent; five parking areas are mapped. While redevelopment continues, we check with you that the street is open that week.

  • Mehmet Nesih Özmen Mahallesi

15 percent of 11.8 km of local streets are narrow or one-way, the highest of the 11. Mean grade 6.2 percent; 882 buildings average 4.3 storeys, nine parking areas mapped. Unloading traffic is described here; pick the truck's spot and time in advance.

  • Sanayi Mahallesi

52 percent of local streets are steep, the highest share of the 11. Mean grade 7.3 percent, 10 percent narrow or one-way; 1,211 buildings average 5.3 storeys and no parking area is mapped. İBB's 2021 disaster-priority-area survey covers Sanayi and Merkez. Small boxes help here.

  • Güneştepe Mahallesi

No narrow or one-way streets (0 percent) across 20.1 km of local streets; mean grade 6.3 percent, steep share 46 percent. 1,632 buildings, the most in the district, average 5.4 storeys; no parking area is mapped. The T1 stops Güneştepe and Yavuz Selim Camii are here.

  • Haznedar Mahallesi

No narrow or one-way streets; mean grade 4.7 percent and steep share 29 percent are both the district's lowest. 773 buildings average 6.2 storeys, the highest, and one parking area is mapped.

  • Gençosman Mahallesi

The largest at 1.251 km², first in the district for both local streets (23.7 km) and mapped parking areas (13). Narrow or one-way share 10 percent, mean grade 7.1 percent, steep share 46 percent. On the sloping streets, choose the truck's spot at the survey.

Slopes, redevelopment timing and Merter traffic: preparing in Güngören

  1. 1.Choosing a room while redevelopment runs

Our rooms are 8 m³ (1+0), 15 m³ (1+1), 22 m³ (2+1) and 28 m³ (3+1). If the whole home waits for the new flat, the matching room usually fits; if only a few rooms empty, one size down may do. We confirm at the survey.

  2. 2.Keep boxes small on the slopes

In Güven, Merkez, Sanayi and Gençosman mean grades are 7.1–7.8 percent. Use medium boxes, pack heavy books separately and label by room.

  3. 3.Ask about timing around Merter

The Governorate says Merter's industry makes the daytime population far larger than the resident one, and residents write that wholesale vehicles block the road while unloading. Ask neighbours when the street is quieter; we pick the time at the survey.

  4. 4.Tell us the floor and the stairs

In Haznedar, Güven and Mareşal Çakmak the mapped average is 5.9–6.2 storeys. Say whether there is a lift; taking wardrobes and beds apart saves time on the stairs.

  5. 5.At the survey and in the room

Give the neighbourhood with the street number and ask whether the street is closed that week for demolition or construction. You can visit the room any day; once the new flat's handover date is clear, bring the first boxes forward.

Questions about storage in Güngören

How long is the trip from Güngören to the Sancaktepe depot?

About 39–43 km and 35–40 minutes without traffic by car. A loaded vehicle may differ. Source: OSRM / OpenStreetMap, September 2026.

Can I keep my belongings in storage during the Tozkoparan redevelopment?

Yes, a room can hold the contents of an emptied home. The municipality's news item targets 1,930 handovers by summer 2027; if the date shifts, our rooms have no maximum term.

What if the street is full when you collect near Merter?

We choose the pickup time and the truck's spot at the survey, once we see the street. If the truck cannot reach the door, belongings are carried on foot.

Do I need municipal permission for the moving vehicle?

We found no published rule on moving vehicles or mobile lifts on the municipality's site. You can call its switchboard (0 212 449 55 00) and ask for the Zabıta unit.
