Beşiktaş storage

Beşiktaş is on the European side and our depot in Sancaktepe on the Anatolian side, so every pickup and delivery crosses the Bosphorus over roughly 27–30 km. We use neighbourhood data to show which room fits and what your street means for loading.

At a glance

  • Neighbourhood with the highest share of narrow or one-way streets: Muradiye (95 %).
  • Neighbourhood with the highest share of steep streets: Abbasağa (73 %).
  • Smallest room: 1+0, 8 m³, ₺4,000 / month; the first month of room rent is on us.

Why belongings wait for a while in Beşiktaş

The Municipality gives 178,938 registered residents as of 31.12.2021 and a daytime population several times larger: universities, workplaces and the Bosphorus Bridge approach roads fill the district all day. The District Governorate calls it a centre of private education. Storage needs from student flats and office furniture are our inference.

According to the Municipality the building stock is mostly reinforced concrete and masonry. Level data is mapped for only 0–7 percent of buildings in most neighbourhoods. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's zoning-note amendment applies the risky-building rule to the plans of 21 neighbourhoods; Arnavutköy and Kuruçeşme are not listed. The Municipality says its Urban Transformation Directorate and Beşiktaş İmar give free advice; we found no announced transformation area. An asbestos inventory is required before demolition, so an evacuation can take longer, and a locked room is a practical stopgap.

From Beşiktaş to the depot, and loading

Our depot is in Abdurrahmangazi, so the vehicle crosses the Bosphorus. Our car-profile estimate from OSRM / OpenStreetMap (September 2026) gives about 27–30 km and 20–25 minutes without traffic: Etiler 27.4 km and 21 minutes, Sanayi Mah. 29.8 km and 23 minutes, Beşiktaş centre 29.7 km and 25 minutes. A loaded vehicle's route and traffic can differ, so we promise no time. The Municipality announced that for the UEFA Europa League final the turns around Şehit Mehmet Caddesi and Kadırgalar Caddesi were closed on 17–20 May 2026.

In Muradiye 95 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow, in Abbasağa 79 percent, in Türkali and Vişnezade 77 percent; on the Municipality's Zabıta map they belong to the Çarşı station. Ulus has no narrow streets but a mean grade of 12.8 percent. We found no rule on the Municipality's site about a moving vehicle using the road temporarily; on a one-way street we suggest asking the relevant station (444 44 55) beforehand.

Beşiktaş neighbourhoods: streets, grade, parking

From 23 neighbourhoods we picked the six whose numbers differ most. Figures are approximate, computed from OpenStreetMap and the Copernicus surface model; read grades relative to each other.

  • Muradiye Mahallesi

The district's smallest neighbourhood: 1.6 km of local street in 0.082 km². 95 percent of streets are one-way or narrow and 66 percent steep; no parking area is mapped. If the vehicle cannot reach the door, boxes are carried by hand.

  • Ulus Mahallesi

No one-way or narrow streets (0 percent), yet 72 percent of 6 km of local street is steep and the mean grade is 12.8 percent. The difficulty is the slope, not the width.

  • Bebek Mahallesi

14.4 km of local street in 1.24 km²; only 4 percent is one-way or narrow, but 65 percent is steep and the mean grade is 12 percent. Residents say the Bebek–Etiler slope is hard to climb and hard to drive down.

  • Dikilitaş Mahallesi

7 percent of streets are one-way or narrow, 65 percent steep; mean grade 12 percent and no parking area mapped. Residents write that construction vehicles fill side streets; temporary closures do not show on the map.

  • Levent Mahallesi

Mean grade of 5.1 percent is the district's lowest; 35 percent of streets are one-way or narrow and 31 percent steep. Only 1 parking area is mapped along 18 km of local street.

  • Konaklar Mahallesi

At 2.63 km² the district's largest neighbourhood; of 20.9 km of local street 14 percent is one-way or narrow, with a mean grade of 5.2 percent. 42 parking areas are mapped, the most in the district.

Slopes, back streets and the Bosphorus: preparing in Beşiktaş

  1. 1.A whole flat or a partial refit: sizing your room

Rooms are 8 m³ for a 1+0, 15 m³ for a 1+1, 22 m³ for a 2+1 and 28 m³ for a 3+1. A flat usually fits the room of the same name; for a partial refit the smaller room may do.

  2. 2.Pick the waiting spot behind the Çarşı

In Muradiye, Abbasağa, Türkali, Vişnezade and Sinanpaşa, 76–95 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow. We choose on site where the vehicle can stop.

  3. 3.Take heavy pieces separately on slopes

In Abbasağa, Ulus, Ortaköy, Bebek and Dikilitaş the mean grade is 12–13.5 percent. Let us discuss a separate run for the fridge and large wardrobe.

  4. 4.Ask management in tall buildings

Konaklar, Gayrettepe and Levazım show a mapped average of 9–10 storeys, yet that data covers only 1–7 percent of buildings. Ask management for the freight-lift rules.

  5. 5.Check event days

Turns around Dolmabahçe can close during stadium events; if your day coincides with a match, we shift the loading.

Questions about storage in Beşiktaş

Are Etiler and the Beşiktaş centre the same distance from the depot?

In our car-profile estimate Etiler is 27.4 km and 21 minutes without traffic, the Beşiktaş centre 29.7 km and 25 minutes. Both cross the Bosphorus; we promise no time.

Do you collect from very narrow streets such as Muradiye or Abbasağa?

Yes, from the door. In Muradiye 95 percent of streets are one-way or narrow, in Abbasağa 79 percent; if the vehicle cannot reach the door, boxes are carried to where it can stop. We fix that spot at the survey.

How does heavy furniture come down steep slopes like Bebek or Ulus?

In Bebek 65 percent of streets are steep, in Ulus 72 percent. We can take a large wardrobe or fridge on a separate run, or dismantle it.

How should I prepare when leaving a risky building?

The evacuation itself is the Municipality's and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's process. Separate what goes into the room from what is thrown away; the Municipality says it collects electronic waste from the address, and we found no separate line for old furniture.
