Where the need for storage in Şişli comes from
Storage searches in Şişli often start from older apartment stock. The municipality's history page (read from an archive copy) says many attached apartment blocks built along the main avenues in the 1930s and 1940s have survived, and that Esentepe and Gayrettepe grew up after 1960 as housing estates. Storey data covers 9 percent of buildings or fewer in 18 of the 25 neighbourhoods, so we give no district-wide average.
Urban transformation is the second source. İBB's plan-note amendment brings its risky-building rules to the plans of 24 neighbourhoods; Halaskargazi is not listed. The only participatory transformation area İBB shows is a 30-hectare site in Mahmut Şevket Paşa, in the far west. The municipality's directorate page (archive copy) lists rent assistance and evacuation support. Between evacuation and handover of the new flat, a locked room is a practical stopgap.
From Şişli to the depot: the drive, the streets, loading
Şişli is on the European side and our rooms are in Sancaktepe on the Anatolian side, so the drive crosses the Bosphorus. The car route calculated with OSRM / OpenStreetMap in September 2026: Gayrettepe 30.8 km and 24 minutes without traffic, Şişli centre 29.5 km and 28 minutes, Şişli 29.2 km and 29 minutes. Traffic and a loaded vehicle change that, and we promise no times. Residents write that parking at Mecidiyeköy is very hard, so we choose the stopping point beforehand.
The Kaymakamlık's geography text calls the Taksim–Şişli–Mecidiyeköy ridge level and the slope joining Dolapdere and Kurtuluş avenues "quite steep". The street data shows the same split: the one-way or narrow share of local streets is 95 percent in Duatepe, 92 percent in Bozkurt, 88 percent in Halil Rıfat Paşa and 80 percent in Cumhuriyet, so the vehicle stays on the main road and boxes are carried by hand. The steepest slopes are in Eskişehir (steep-street share 69 percent) and İnönü (67 percent). No parking area is mapped in 7 of the 25 neighbourhoods. The municipality's Zabıta page (archive copy) publishes no rule we could find on a moving vehicle using the road temporarily; ask Zabıta before pulling into a one-way street.
From Esentepe's 20 parking areas to Duatepe's narrow streets
Data come from OpenStreetMap and the Copernicus elevation model; compare grades only within Şişli. Nişantaşı, Osmanbey, Kurtuluş and Bomonti are district names, not neighbourhoods; we picked the five whose data differs most.
Bozkurt Mahallesi
In 0.182 km² there are 3.4 km of local streets and 665 buildings; 92 percent of the streets are one-way or narrow and 1 parking area is mapped. The mean grade is 6.3 percent: the difficulty is where the vehicle waits.
Duatepe Mahallesi
Of 1.8 km of local streets, 95 percent are one-way or narrow, the highest share in the district. Storey data covers 47 percent of buildings, averaging 4.5 storeys. Its 4 parking areas make 28.4 per square kilometre, the densest ratio.
Eskişehir Mahallesi
The mean grade is 11.5 percent and 69 percent of local streets are steep: the steepest neighbourhood in the district. It has 742 buildings and no mapped parking area; storey data covers 1 percent of them.
Esentepe Mahallesi
At 1.533 km² the widest neighbourhood in the district; 49 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow and the mean grade is 5.9 percent. With 20 parking areas it has the most. Storey data covers only 5 percent of buildings, averaging 16.3 storeys.
Mahmut Şevket Paşa Mahallesi
Only 3 percent of 10.9 km of local streets are one-way or narrow; the mean grade is 8.7 percent. İBB places its transformation work area here. The map holds 89 buildings, none with storey data.

Advice for Şişli: Duatepe, Bozkurt and Eskişehir
1.Pick the room by the flat
Our rooms are 8 m³ for a 1+0, 15 m³ for a 1+1, 22 m³ for a 2+1 and 28 m³ for a 3+1. A flat's contents usually fit the room of the same name; furniture and boxes alone may fit one size down.
2.Find the waiting point beforehand in Duatepe and Bozkurt
In these two neighbourhoods 92–95 percent of streets are one-way or narrow. Choose at the free survey where the vehicle can stop, and gather boxes near the door.
3.Separate heavy pieces on slopes
In Eskişehir, İnönü, Fulya and 19 Mayıs, 60–69 percent of local streets are steep. We can take the fridge and wardrobe on a separate run; furniture that comes apart helps.
4.Measure the stairs and doors in an older apartment
The municipality's page gives no lift information, so we do not assume one. Describe stair width and door height before the survey to see whether large pieces will come down.
5.Label the order before an evacuation
If you are leaving a risky building, we place what the new home needs first at the mouth of the room. Label boxes by room name; you can visit the room any day, no appointment needed.
Room sizes and monthly prices
| Home size | Room volume | Monthly rent |

| Fits a 2+1 home | 22 m³ | ₺8,000 |
| Fits a 3+1 home | 28 m³ | ₺9,000 |

Questions about storage in Şişli
Do you collect from narrow streets such as Duatepe or Bozkurt?
Yes, from the door. We keep the vehicle on the main road and carry boxes by hand.
How are heavy items moved in a steep neighbourhood such as Eskişehir or İnönü?
Heavy pieces are taken apart and, where needed, collected on a separate run.
My building was declared risky; how should I prepare the contents?
Rent assistance and evacuation support are a municipal process; we only handle the belongings. Label boxes by room name and tell us your evacuation date.
Can you take archives and furniture from an office in a plaza?
We collect from the door anywhere in İstanbul. At plazas the goods-lift rule and security registration decide things; ask building management and tell us.
