Kadıköy storage

From Kadıköy our depot in Sancaktepe is roughly 16–23 km away, on the same Anatolian side, so the trip never crosses the Bosphorus. Between Moda's one-way lanes and Fikirtepe's tall blocks, neighbourhood data shows which room is likely to work.

Why belongings wait elsewhere for a while in Kadıköy

The District Governorate lists 21 neighbourhoods; the Municipality gives 25.20 km², about 21 km of coastline from Haydarpaşa to Bostancı and six hills. We have no data on flat sizes. In Caferağa the buildings with level data average 4.9 storeys, but that covers only 17 percent of 2,065 buildings. One resident describes Moda's typical buildings as having no parking, lift or basement; a single remark, yet it suggests why seasonal items can be hard to keep at home.

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's 2022 zoning-note amendment applies the risky-building rule to 19 neighbourhoods, Fikirtepe included. While a building is renewed or a flat emptied, a locked room is a practical stopgap. One writer describes endless renewal around Bağdat Avenue, with excavation lorries squeezing into narrow side streets; a single-source note, but it shows why a flat under refit may need its contents moved out.

From Kadıköy to Abdurrahmangazi, and Moda's narrow streets

In Kadıköy, Bostancı, Göztepe and Ayrılık Çeşmesi share the Anatolian side with the depot, so the vehicle does not cross the Bosphorus. Our car-profile estimate from OSRM / OpenStreetMap (September 2026), run around Bostancı, Göztepe and Ayrılık Çeşmesi, gives about 16–23 km and 15–20 minutes without traffic; the Bostancı side is the short end. A loaded vehicle and traffic change this, so we promise no time.

The real work happens at the door. In Caferağa 86 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow and 39 percent are steep; one resident writes that reaching a door by vehicle in Moda's inner streets is possible only at certain times. Fikirtepe has only 1 percent narrow streets, but its blocks are tall. We found no published rule on the Municipality's site about a moving vehicle using the road temporarily (accessed 29.09.2026); on a narrow street, ask the Zabıta directorate first.

From Moda to Fikirtepe: choosing the room and the loading plan

  1. 1.Count the belongings piece by piece

Rooms are 8 m³ for a 1+0, 15 m³ for a 1+1, 22 m³ for a 2+1 and 28 m³ for a 3+1. Belongings from an older apartment usually fit the room of the same name; if only wardrobes and beds leave for a refit, one size down may do.

  2. 2.Find the waiting spot early around Bağdat Avenue

In Caddebostan, Suadiye, Erenköy, Göztepe and Feneryolu, 59–77 percent of local streets are one-way or narrow. Ask building management where a vehicle may stop; we choose the point with you at the survey.

  3. 3.Ask about the freight lift in tower blocks

In Fikirtepe the buildings with level data average 16.7 storeys, in Dumlupınar 17.6, yet that data covers only 6 and 19 percent of buildings. Learn the freight-lift rule from management.

  4. 4.Separate heavy pieces on the slopes

In Hasanpaşa 45 percent of streets are steep, in Acıbadem and Sahrayıcedit 41 percent, in Caferağa 39 percent. We can discuss a separate run for wardrobes and the fridge.

  5. 5.Set damp-prone items apart from older flats

A few posts mention damp in older Yeldeğirmeni flats. Pack and label textiles, books and wooden items; our rooms are kept dry and hygienic.

Questions about storage in Kadıköy

Do you collect from streets as narrow as Moda's?

Yes, from the door anywhere in Istanbul. In Caferağa 86 percent of streets are one-way or narrow, so we fix the stopping point and carrying distance at the free survey.

Can you collect from a tower flat in Fikirtepe?

We can. In tall blocks the freight lift and security sign-in decide the plan, so pass on management's rules. Residents write that approach roads are narrow, so we check the vehicle's approach at the survey.

How should I prepare things while renovation goes on around Bağdat Avenue?

Separate what leaves the room from what goes to the bin, and label boxes. One writer describes excavation lorries blocking side streets there, so agree the vehicle's time and spot in advance.

What changes in steep neighbourhoods like Hasanpaşa or Acıbadem?

In Hasanpaşa 45 percent of streets are steep, in Acıbadem 41 percent. If the vehicle cannot reach the door, boxes are carried by hand; we discuss a separate run for heavy pieces at the survey.
