Başakşehir storage
In Başakşehir storage often starts with an estate number, a site name and a block letter, and ends in a locked room across the Bosphorus in Sancaktepe. We collect and deliver at your door; from Kayaşehir's block names to Güvercintepe's slopes, we settle where the truck can stop at the free survey.

A district built estate by estate, and the need for spare space
Başakşehir was created in 2008 from neighbourhoods split off from Küçükçekmece and Esenler plus the Bahçeşehir town; the municipality's table gives 536,797 residents for 2025, and the district authority writes that more than half live in mass-housing estates. Among buildings with mapped levels the average is 16.1 in Ziya Gökalp, 13.6 in Kayabaşı and 13.4 in Başakşehir Mahallesi, but level data covers only 15, 28 and 41 percent of buildings there.
One resident writes that new blocks start at twenty storeys or more; a single observation, but a spare room suits someone whose new flat cannot take everything. The municipality has no separate urban-transformation directorate, and İBB's plan-note change applies to five neighbourhoods. We found no official figure for how many buildings will be vacated, so we do not present transformation as the general reason.
Across the Bosphorus in 48–56 km: from Başakşehir to Abdurrahmangazi
From the İkitelli Sanayi side it is 48.5 km, from Kayaşehir Merkez 52.7 km and from the Başakşehir centre 55.5 km: those three September 2026 OSRM / OpenStreetMap car-profile points put addresses here roughly 48–56 km and 35–45 minutes without traffic from our depot in Abdurrahmangazi Mahallesi, across the Bosphorus on the Anatolian side. A loaded truck's route and time can differ; KGM sets vehicle-class rules on some bridges.
Narrow or one-way streets are 25 percent of local streets in Malkoçoğlu, 22 percent in Başak and 20 percent in İkitelli OSB, the three highest shares. Güvercintepe shows none, but its steep share is 50 percent. Güvercintepe, Şahintepe and Altınşehir have no mapped parking area. We found no municipal rule on moving vehicles using the road; you can ask the call centre on 444 0 669.
Seven neighbourhoods: streets, grades and building levels
The official list has 10 neighbourhoods; our profile computed 11 map areas (İkitelli OSB and Malkoçoğlu are not on the official list, Şamlar is missing). Figures come from OpenStreetMap and a Copernicus surface model; grades are indicative.
Güvercintepe Mahallesi
5,000 buildings are mapped; 1 percent carry level data (mean 9.5). Narrow or one-way share is 0 percent, yet the mean grade of 8.3 percent is the district's highest and the steep share 50 percent; no parking area is mapped. The difficulty is carrying distance, not width.
Şahintepe Mahallesi
78.5 km of local streets, the longest network in the district. Narrow or one-way streets show 0 percent, steep share 41 percent; parking and level data are not mapped. Residents write that parked cars narrow the streets, which the map cannot show, so we look at the stopping place on the street.
Başak Mahallesi
In a polygon of 24.494 km² there are only 9.1 km of local streets; 22 percent are narrow or one-way. Mean grade is 4.6 percent, steep share 29 percent, with 21 parking areas mapped. The level mean is 9.2, but only 4 percent of buildings carry data.
Kayabaşı Mahallesi
With 37 parking areas, the most mapped in the district. Narrow or one-way share is 5 percent, steep share 38 percent. Level data covers 28 percent of buildings, averaging 13.6.
Bahçeşehir 2. Kısım Mahallesi
11 percent of 56.9 km of local streets are narrow or one-way; the steep share is 42 percent. Of 1,945 buildings 17 percent have level data, averaging 4.9: a low-density fabric. One resident writes that leaving in morning traffic takes very long.
İkitelli OSB Mahallesi
Not on the official list; OpenStreetMap draws it as a separate area. 20 percent of local streets are narrow or one-way; mean grade 4.2 percent is the flattest and steep share 23 percent the lowest. Level mean 3.6 (13 percent of buildings).
Ziya Gökalp Mahallesi
The highest mean among buildings with level data, 16.1 storeys, yet only 15 percent of 373 buildings carry it. Grade is 4.8 percent, steep share 31 percent, narrow or one-way share 9 percent. In a tall block the lift matters more than the street.

Estate, site and block: what to base the plan on in Başakşehir
1.Is a small room enough for what the new flat cannot take
Our rooms are 8 m³ (1+0), 15 m³ (1+1), 22 m³ (2+1) and 28 m³ (3+1). For a few large pieces a small room usually does; for a whole home through a renovation, take the room matching its type. We confirm the size at the survey.
2.Give the estate, site, block and door in writing
In the municipality's muhtar list, Başakşehir Mahallesi appears as 1st–2nd Etap and Başak Mahallesi as 4th–5th Etap; residents write that Kayaşehir block names are a mix. Give neighbourhood, estate, site, block and door number.
3.Learn about the freight lift early
In tall-block areas such as Ziya Gökalp, Kayabaşı and Başakşehir Mahallesi, ask site management about a freight lift or move-out time rule. Dismantling a wardrobe that will not fit the lift shortens loading.
4.Use small boxes on sloping streets
Where the steep share is high, as in Güvercintepe or Bahçeşehir, boxes are carried by hand if the truck cannot reach the door. Medium boxes, labels by room and heavy books packed apart help.
5.Agree the loading hour for Bahçeşehir and the estates
One resident writes that getting out of Bahçeşehir in morning traffic takes a very long time. At the survey we check where the vehicle can stand by your block, measure the lift and pick a start hour that fits your street.
6.Keep boxes you will check later near the room door
You can open your locked room in Sancaktepe on any day without an appointment. Tell us on loading day which boxes hold seasonal clothes or files so we place them at the front.
7.Moving the office side of a workshop in İkitelli OSB: set aside what the work needs
The district governorate describes İkitelli OSB as an area of 38 cooperatives; the governorate gives 24,864 businesses and the municipality about 30,000, so we do not treat a single figure as final. When a small business moves its office side, pack archives and spare office items in separate labelled boxes, keep what the daily work needs at the new place and send the rest to the room. We can talk through what you want to store and the cooperative site's vehicle entry rule at the free survey.

Questions about storage in Başakşehir
How long is the trip from Başakşehir to the Sancaktepe depot?
The car-profile estimate gives roughly 48–56 km and 35–45 minutes without traffic. The route crosses the Bosphorus, so a loaded truck's route and time can differ. Source: OSRM / OpenStreetMap, September 2026.
Can you collect from a block in a Kayaşehir mass-housing estate?
We offer door pickup. Residents write that block names mix letters and digits, so give site name, block and door number. The freight lift and the truck's stopping point are settled at the survey.
Can you collect from steep neighbourhoods such as Güvercintepe or Şahintepe?
Yes. The steep share is 50 percent in Güvercintepe and 41 percent in Şahintepe. If the truck cannot reach the door, belongings are carried on foot; we see the walking distance at the survey.
Can I keep my belongings in storage while the building is emptied for urban transformation?
Yes, a room can be rented for the belongings you empty; the volume decides the room. İBB's plan-note change covers five neighbourhoods; we found no official figure for how many buildings will be vacated.
Does the municipality take old furniture and rubble?
The Environmental Protection and Control Directorate lists collection of rubble and of used items but gives no day or appointment method. Call centre: 444 0 669.
Can I keep the archive boxes and dismantled shelves of my small business in İkitelli OSB in a room?
For office archives, desks and dismantled shelves, a 1+0 (8 m³) or 1+1 (15 m³) room usually does. Our rooms are for household and office items; we settle what you want to store at the free survey. Pickup and delivery are at your door, and there is no maximum term.
